JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. --Logan Bell broke his own team record in the javelin and Isaiah Johnson swept the hurdle events Friday at the 58th annual Capital City Relays.
Bell threw 178-feet, 5-inches to win the javelin by nearly 30 feet and was 3-feet, 2-inches better than his previous throw.
Johnson won the 110-meter hurdles in 15.5 seconds and took the 300 hurdles in 40.2 while Adam Vincent was second in the pole vault by clearing 14-0 and the Mules 400 relay of Johnson, Vincent, Wyatt Murphy and Rufus Ward placed second, 0.36 of a second behind host Jefferson City, at 44.27.
Krisman Eakin was second in the 200 at 25.89, just 0.77 of a second behind Hazelwood Central's Brittney Johnson who won the event. Eakin had the top time in the prelim with Johnson close behind.
Murphy's long jump of 20-4.75 was third while the Mules finished third in the 1600 relay at 3:30.39 with Johnson, Vincent, Murphy and Danarius Moore. Murphy was also fifth in the high jump at 5-10.
Khelie Spence was fourth in the 100 hurdles at 15.64 while the freshman placed 16th in the 300 hurdles at 52.03.
Lexi Hafford placed fifth in the high jump at 4-8.
Kaylee Harris finished fifth in both the 100 and 200, running 12.88 and 26.91.
Katie Sliger was seventh in the 1600 at 5:49 and 12th in the 3200 at 13:21. Katelyn Moeller was 12th in the mile at 6:02 and 14th in the 3200 at 13:31.
Calli Gerber finished 11th in the javelin at 95-8, thew the discus 97-9 for 12th and the shot 28-10 for 18th. Secret Buchanan was 21st in the long jump at 13-5.5.
Rashawn McCain threw 132-5 for sixth in the javelin and was 15th in the discus at 118-0. Poplar Bluff's 3200 relay finished seventh in 11:40.
Danarius Moore, Brantley James, Wesley Moore and Victor Olivan were seventh in the distance medley relay at 11:40 after running it in 12:09 Wednesday.
