Ellsinore school collects box tops

This is in reply to the person asking in last weeks DAR if any local schools participate in the Box Tops for Education Program. Our school, East Carter Co. R-2 in Ellsinore participates in the Box Tops for Education Program as well as Campbell's Labels for Education Program, the Prang Power Program, Tyson A+ Labels Program, and the Prairie Farm Lids for a Cause Program. These programs greatly benefit our K-12 art classes. We would appreciate any and all donations of these to our art program. Yes, I'd like to put this in Speak Out. I'd like to know why it is nothing I call in is ever been printed in the paper? You know if you don't have enough room on one page why don't you just dedicate one whole page to Speak Out because I do know several people called in and complained about a lot of things that have never been printed. legal in PB?

I'd just like to know when it became legal to gamble in Poplar Bluff at these convenience stores. It's causing a lot of marriage problems. I'd just like to know when it became legal? Thank you.

A prayer request

I was saddened today that I had to actually search for the prayer, today's prayer, that's normally on the opinion page or the editorial page. I found it in the middle and smaller print. I was wonderin' if it could be moved back to the top.

I didn't however have any problem finding the page with the horoscopes it was a page and a quarter. Please put the prayer back at the top of the page so we could find it easily. Thank you.

I'd like to know where the scripture is that you always put on the opinion page? I don't see it in today's Sunday edition. Don't let these atheists rule you, too. Please, put it back. Thank you.

Historical

decisions

It sounds like the historical board is doing more damage than they are good by making themselves the self-appointed contractors for developers that want to buy the old buildings downtown. No one wants to buy a building and have someone else manage the spending of it. A textbook approach downtown will not work and the historic board needs to be stopped from making decisions for commercial buildings downtown. Thank you. Bye.

Tell us why

I just found out the public library pays $100,000 every year to the city. And no one seems to have a straight answer as to why. Who can tell me why?

Prayer still there

Yes, I'd like to know what happened to the little prayer that we used to get in the DAR? Is there a problem with that? Everybody can use a little bit of religion. It won't hurt them.

Yes, I'd like to know where all the complaints and Speak Out things on the Poplar Bluff Police Dept. are? I know for a fact I've called in several times and it's about time people know what kind of Poplar Bluff Police Dept. we have.
