A detriment

to Downtown

I love history and the idea of preserving historical places. I believe our downtown district has done an excellent job considering what she has been given to work with; however, it has become painfully obvious that we have some huge obstacles to deal with before we are ever going to bring our downtown business district up to a positive economic position.

One obstacle is our Historic Board. A developer wants to buy a building and make renovations for a business, however, when the Historic Board finds out about it they tell him what renovations he must do to the building. They are so extensive in their requirements the developer judges the project to be too expensive and looks elsewhere outside of Poplar Bluff to invest his capital. Once again, a group of the few trying to their will on the many to the detriment of the all.

Christmas

is from God

Yes, I have written something about Christmas I'd like to put in. It's called Christmas.

What is Christmas? It's when some of your dreams come true. Every year it comes around. It catches by surprise some times, but to know the true meaning look in your own heart and find all the secret treasures there is to give. Love is the best gift you can give. We should try to remember to do this all year around. Love someone and give just to make them happy and in return it will make you feel good.

Jesus is the real reason we have Christmas. To give to Him, He asks us to give to others with a glad heart, so give with a glad heart always because we are giving to Jesus. Make Him happy and He will bless you. And merry Christmas to all and from God.
