The last three to four months the paper has been a real bear to try to unfold and read because of the way it was being rolled. I really appreciate the way the DAR is now being rolled and delivered.

Public servants?

Good morning, Speak Out. Well, I just witnessed it again. You know there's a lot of bad publicity about the Poplar Bluff community and the services and I just witnessed another case of it. I just left the Poplar Bluff Post Office and seen an ambulance service there -- both the driver and the passengers getting out and checking their mail. A couple weeks ago I witnessed another ambulance at Orscheln Farm & Home loading up dog and goat food.

I would like to know what I got to do. I would like the city and the county taxpayers to help me with some of my gas for my vehicles to run my errands. I think we could save a lot of money if we'd look at these problems. I realize these people are public servants, but that don't mean that we can allow them to misuse the city and county's funds. Thank you for listening.

American history

Yeah, this is in response to the Rebel flag. I am Caucasian and so you might say I'm a racist, but I'm not. A lot of nice black people friends of mine know this. But the thing about it is the Rebel flag --that is a part of America's history. Those people who broke away from the North and went to the South they were Americans. And after it was all over they still were Americans. So that is part of the southern history. The American flag is the number one flag! A lot of them still love the Rebel flag. And as far as us disgracing monuments, you know, there's some monuments that go back thousands of years. What if the South had won and they would say well, we're gonna get rid of anything with George Washington's picture on it or we're gonna burn the Statue of Liberty. We'd be mad about it. I say back off from this rebel . As far as banning movies stuff and TV. That's the first thing the Nazis did was to burn books! So America if you want to play Nazism and be Nazis then I don't want to live in this country. But as far as that Rebel flag--it don't mean nothing. It's just stripes and bars--that's all it is. It's heritage to some people and I say you ought to back off because there's thousands movies with the Rebel flag in them and I think it's a crying shame that a bunch of idiots right now get up and cry over something that happened over 150 years ago and don't mean nothing for it. Black people can get up and call each other the "N" word and "B" word and all that kind of stuff and it don't mean nothing! But you let somebody else say it and they go crazy! I've got a daughter that goes with a black guy and he called her "Honkie" "Cracker" all kinds of things, but if used the "N" word he want to beat her to death. It don't make sense, does it? It's just not right. Thank you.
