'I'm not a child'

Hello. I was wondering am I the only senior citizen that resents being called names like, "hon," or "babe" by these service people or people in the restaurants or in the stores? Those are names of endearment that we call our children. We may be older but that doesn't mean we are child-like and I really don't like this going trend. I would like to hear if I'm the only one or you feel the same way. Thank you.

New Wave. They are supposed to make the better city and they're just like Kaplan. They're lining their pockets by making you rent their boxes. They took off good channels and put in more sports channels. Not everybody is interested in sports. Thank you.

Hypocrite. Does anybody on the City Council know what hypocritical means? You know they fired that city manager because he wanted to raise these rates and all the other stuff he was doing and they talked about we didn't need it at this time. We've not needed it in years and we don't need it and this and that and Betty Absheer, Ed DeGaris and these other two --three members are out of the council--they voted to increase the people 6.5 percent electrical increase, but not industrial. In other words, they put it on the citizens of Poplar Bluff. They is hypocritical in the worse part. You know they shouldn't have raised them rates. They should have waited for the whole council to be there before they raised them rates and I don't think they're needed unless it's to pay the $159,000 they give Kaplan plus all that other money. I think that ruling out to be reversed. They oughta be ashamed of theirselves because I'm appalled myself. They don't know what hypocritical, but Betty and you other people, who have voted for that you're all hypocrites! Thank you.
