Speak Out 7/25/14
Have you
ever sinned?
I was just reading "Food Stamps for Felons." Somebody was complaining about it in Speak Out. You know if we sent them there felons out of the state and all the sinners out of the state and anybody who has ever committed any crime or sin or anything else out of the state, you know this would be an empty state. There wouldn't be no churches being built. There wouldn't be nobody in charge. Nobody in government. Nobody, nothing in this state because if you cast stones while living in a glass house remember what the Bible says. There's nobody in this state or this country that has never sinned. Jesus Christ is the only one that never sinned and look what he got. So before you cast them stones living in a glass house you better think back over all the years you've been on this fine earth and remember and think, "Haven't I sinned?' The answer is "Yes."
Rep. Smith is
wrong on EPA
Usually I read Rep. Jason Smith's capital report for a laugh, but one report two or three weeks ago sticks in my craw. It was the one about the EPA and pesticide applications on private property. Look any of us can be wrong about something, but that report is wrong in so many ways it was irresponsible! I know something about toxic chemical applications. I've done miles of it and you can be sure that applications done by anybody, anywhere, anytime some of that chemical will escape into the environment in water or air or soil. If you doubt this, think about the 66, 000+ square miles dead zone off the mouth of the Mississippi and that is caused mostly by agricultural run-off. Rep. Smith said that the EPA crimps our rural lifestyle. Well, the EPA tracks cancer risks from airborne pollution county-by-county in the United States. Four of the top five counties are rural counties. At number three, New York City, New York, is the only metropolitan ( I'm sorry) the only metropolitan county in the five most risky counties. Does Rep. Smith really care about rural lifestyles or is he just another puppet who follows the agenda of the far-out end of the Republican Party? If so, it's time to send him home in the next election or sooner. And one last point--ticks absolutely do NOT breed in water. Rep. Smith should at least use fact-check when writing some of his rants. To repeat, he is irresponsible!
