Ask Jo Ann to pay for election

Jo Ann Emerson knew when she got re-elected she was gonna resign as soon as she got elected to take that private CEO job. If it's gonna cost the taxpayers of this district a million dollars, she should be made to pay it instead of making the poor folks do it.

Stir a different pot for a change

I'd just like to make a comment about your Tuesday survey questions in your newspaper. We get it. You don't like Democrats. You don't like Obama, so how about asking questions related to something other than politics for a change? Instead, you seem to want to keep stirring the pot with the politics. Please pick another topic for your survey questions. Thank you.

Reader unhappy with Emerson

Everyone thought Jo Ann Emerson was such a wonderful person. I bet she knew about that other job offer when she went ahead and let the people elect her to this job. I don't think she's a very nice person.

Get machines out of school

Yeah, this is to the food administration that's gonna let the schools give kids more meat and vegetables 'cause they say they're not getting enough food and I understand the obesity problem, but what they have to realize if you want to get rid of obesity then make physical education physical. When I was in school you had to climb a rope to the top and touch the ceiling before you passed physical ed and it didn't kill me. I don't see where it's gonna hurt these kids. The other thing is you want to get rid of obesity? You want to help? Take out the soda machines, the fruit machines and the candy machines, the potato chip machines--take 'em out of the schools. I've got three kids in the Broseley school district and everyone of them talks about those machines. Can I have a dollar for this, this and this, and I say, "No! You don't need that crap." So you really want to do something take the vending machines out of the school and, yeah, this new food program? My three kids hate it. They say it tastes like trash and they don't like it either. So, put physical education back into the curriculum. Thank you.

Take another look at system

I just had a friend of mine that I've been trying to find work for over a month now in construction, which there isn't any anywhere hardly call me and said he got a notice that if he didn't come up with some back child pay that they would take his license away to make sure he couldn't drive anywhere and go to work and then if he doesn't pay some more --a bunch--they're gonna throw him in jail where he can really make a lot of money. Boy, our judicial system sucks. And, he is a good Christian man. What we have to do to change it, I don't know. All I can do is pray. Please help. Bye.

Pay congress for work finished

The poor Congressmen have to work 126 days in 2013. They never work on Monday and 90 percent of the time they don't work on Friday. Sometimes, they work til noon on Friday before they take off wherever they're going. They get all the free trips and pocket money they need from all the bribes and everything like that. I think we need to pay 'em for what they've done and that wouldn't be very much for the last four years. Concerned Citizen.
