GREENVILLE, Mo. -- Helen R. Bennett, 89, of Greenville, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
She was born Jan. 24, 1923 in Adams, Tenn.
As a child, the family lived in Tennessee and Illinois. She was like most kids born in her era, the highest level of education was the eighth grade. Yet she managed to (after she raised her children) to continue her education and was a food service nutritionist. She worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in Anaheim, Calif., and Granite City Steel. She owned several restaurants. Mrs. Bennett liked to oil paint and to clog dance. She played the spoons in a band, but most of she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends. She loved to play games and her favorite game was Farkle. She was a member of the Open Word Apostolic Church in Patterson.
She was married to Charles Warmack.
Surviving are two daughters, Joyce Wright and Judy Peterson, both of Greenville, Mo.; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ruegg Funeral Home Chapel in Greenville, Mo. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m.
