Dallas, Texas -- Lavonda Denise Redd was born March 18, 1975, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., to the union of Charles Redd Sr. and Anna Redd. Miss Redd moved to Dallas, Texas, in July of 1996.
Miss Redd was a 1995 graduate of Three Rivers College and 2000 graduate of Dallas Baptist University. Recognizing the deity of God, Miss Redd accepted Christ as her personal savior. She was a member of Calvary Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for seven years. A well respected teacher, Miss Redd was employed by Evangel School until the school closed and was then employed by Grace Lutheran until her extended illness. Perhaps Miss Redd will be remembered best for her quiet and unassuming disposition; her love and loyalty and consideration to family and friends; and her dedication and devotion to God and church, her willingness to do her best on the job and her gentleness of spirit.
On Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, the Lord called Miss Redd home to eternal rest. She leaves to cherish her loving parents, Charles Redd Sr. and Anna Redd, one brother, Charles Redd of Grand Prairie, Texas, and two nephews, Trey Redd, all of Grand Prairie, Texas and Elijah Redd of Arlington, Texas, one grandmother, I.D. Hill of Neelyville, Mo., and a host of aunts, uncles and friends.
The funeral service was at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 at the Calvary Church, Irving, Texas. Pastor Stacey Blackmon officiated. Burial was in the Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, Grand Prairie, Texas.
