R-I Board holds closed session meeting

The Poplar Bluff R-I Board approved two retirements, seven resignations, four terminations and 12 employments at their closed session meeting Dec. 15. There was one certified personnel retirement, that of Cynthia McIver, the IEP facilitator at Poplar Bluff Middle School. Volunteers Needed at the United Gospel Rescue Mission

Volunteers will be needed from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to prepare for Christmas dinner at the United Gospel Rescue Mission, but drivers are needed to deliver the holiday meal Sunday. “It’s going be a Sunday, everything will be just like Thanksgiving. Same time, 8 a.m. to 10:30 in the morning to get started for drivers,” said the Rev. Greg Kirk, executive director. “We need the two Ds: drivers and desserts. Hunter was booked in on a Butler County warrant for failure to appear on possession of a controlled substance with a $20,000 bond, a Warren County warrant for failure to appear on dangerous drugs with no bond set and additional charges of possession of amphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
