Harvey Huston Hook, 56, of Fairview, Ore., formerly of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Monday, Feb. 18, 2019 at his residence. There are no services planned at this time.

This past September 20, 2018, the 33rd induction class of the Poplar Bluff Sports Hall of Fame passed a milestone. They inducted their 100th member, Janice-Lee York Romary. She attended PBHS in the mid-1940s and had quite an Olympic career after she left the halls of our local high school. She went on to compete in six consecutive Olympics from 1948 to 1968 in the sport of fencing...

DONIPHAN, Mo. — Betty Katherine Murphy, 92, of Doniphan, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2019. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. A request to add business zoning to some property along Barron Road should be denied, members of the city’s planning and zoning commission believe. City firefighters responded at 6:42 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, to a report of carbon monoxide in the 402 Hazel St. home occupied Lola Smith. According to the report, firefighters found no odor or evidence of carbon monoxide upon their arrival.
