Poplar Bluff Elks Lodge 2452 in conjunction with the Elks National Foundation will fund nearly $3.6 million in college scholarships through its three scholarship programs. The Elks National Foundation's Most Valuable Student contest launched on Sept. 1 and will lessen the cost of college tuition for 500 deserving students. The Foundation awards 18 top winners scholarships ranging from $8,000 to $60,000. The remaining 482 runners-up receive $4,000 scholarships...

Prayers were answered...by the hundreds. Little Abigail is safe and that monster who is suspected of taking her is back behind bars. How many times have we read of situations like this where the ending is tragic? Secretly, some law enforcement officers voiced early fears we might have the same scenario. Especially since the suspect already had convictions on his record involving girls ages 13, 12 and 6. His record clearly indicates he is NOT a nice man...
