Tell everyone about the One you’re in love with
Did you know that you will fail 100% of the activities you do not try. That’s right, you cannot succeed if you don’t do what you are attempting.
I know, “Thank you Captain Obvious.” But there is a reason for this. We live in a world today that needs some changes. Morality has become passé, individual rights overcome treating some decently, and politeness has taken a back seat to assertiveness. Let’s face it folks, we are back to making criminals heroes while good people are demonized. The world is on the verge of turning upside down.
Yet, we all know what it will take to fix it. There really is no mystery there. The Bible has directions on how to act, and yet we still have these problems. Why? Might I suggest that we are not obeying the two greatest commandments? Maybe we need to change our approach? (by the way, look up Matthew 22:36-40)
Look, the persecution of Christians in America is really non-existent. Nobody dies or gets killed for professing Christ as their savior in America. I know we have people who shout us down and others who tell us we are wrong and such, but this isn’t persecution — that is just words. We don’t have to worry about getting scourged, or crucified or stoned to death. We can still share the gospel of Christ.
But we will fail in that endeavor if we don’t do it. Yes, how can someone hear the message of Christ if we don’t share? Thus we fail every time we don’t attempt to share the Good News.
Look, sharing your experience of Christ with someone else isn’t rocket science. If you are reading this article, there is a good chance you have had a salvatiol experience. (I’m not kidding myself; I know this audience is rather limited) What I don’t get is why we are not out there sharing Christ with everyone.
I remember when I first started dating my wife. I couldn’t wait to tell people how I felt about her. I shared with people how wonderful she is and how beautiful she is (I still do that). The reason is simple: I am in love with her and I want people to know why.
It’s the same thing with Christ. We are supposed to be in love with Him (this salvation thing really is a two-way street). If we are in love with Christ, why are we not telling people about him? I mean, there isn’t anything to be embarrassed about, is there?
The world wants us to be embarrassed about our faith. The world tries to convince us that having faith is a sign of weakness. They want us to believe that believing in Christ is nothing more than a crutch to deal with our own insecurities (I read that somewhere). In fact, the only reason people say that stuff is because of their doubts and fears.
If you truly love your neighbor and God, you will share your Christ story with as many people as possible. If they protest, it’s because they too are frightened.
See you in church.
