Jesus, all for Jesus
It is often said that the Word of God does not return void. I have found this to be very true. Lately, I have come to the realization that everything that is done according to the principles of God will not return void either. Everything that is done for Jesus, prayed to Jesus, and loved like Jesus loves will in his timing, turn into something good. Romans 8:28 promises us this.
As I look back at my 13 years of ministry at First Assembly of God in Van Buren, there is not one ministry, activity, outreach, or event that has not produced something great. As I look back, I am reminded of individuals who have come to faith in Christ. I am reminded of those who have been healed physically, emotionally and spiritually. I am reminded of relationships formed, marriages that have taken place and new journeys that have been started.
Jesus said in Luke 6:38, “What you measure out will be measured back unto you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” We are quick to always say, “But we don’t give to receive a blessing!”
This is true — we do it unto the glory of the Lord. So, if we are going to live to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, we might as well use a “big scoop” for the blessing is inevitable. What you measure out shall be measured back unto you. It is like opening the flood gates of a dam. The flow of the water is out of your control. So, measure out cheerfully because the blessing of the Lord is automatic. The blessing of God is going to flow over you.
While writing this, I was reminded of a song by Robin Mark entitled, “Jesus, All for Jesus” I feel the first and second verse of the lyrics are very supportive of our main thought today: “Jesus, all for Jesus. All I am and have and ever hope to be. All of my ambitions, hopes, and plans. I surrender these unto your hands.”
The Word of God does not return insufficient. Our hands working for God, our prayers, our praises, our finances and even God’s promises do not return to us empty. All that is done in the Name of Jesus will reap a harvest. The Apostle John called it, “Living in the light as Jesus is in the light.”
May God’s presence rest on you and yours. Have an incredible week.
