Let the hope Jesus brings guide us
1 Peter 1:3 says; “Praise be to the God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In his great mercy, he had given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and into an inheritance that can never spoil, perish or fade.”
I am so thankful that we serve a God who is for us. If we think about the life of Jesus, everything the Heavenly Father led him to do, Jesus did to show that not only God is for us, but God wants to be with us.
Here are a couple of examples of God wanting to be with us.
First, from the Birth of the Christ Child. Matthew 1:23; “Look the virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel; God with us.”
Part of being “God with us,” is the fact that the Heavenly Father wanted us to have forgiveness for our sins.
Matthew 1:21, “And Mary will have a son and you are to name him Jesus. For he will save his people from their sins.”
John 15:5 Jesus said, “I am the vine you are the branches if a man be in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit apart from me you can do nothing.”
John 14:3, Jesus speaks concerning his death and resurrection, “and if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you so that you will be where I am.” In John 4:6; “I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me.”
Jesus was “God With Us” on earth. He left to prepare a place for us. Jesus was passionate about this. He had to leave so the Holy Spirit would come and be with us. Through Jesus, we now have hope. A hope for new beginnings. A hope that God’s presence will be with us and guide us.
May the Lord Bless you this week! I wish you and your family a Happy New Year! Peace on Earth Y’all!
