In 2020, offer respect, kindness
I’m not big on making New Year’s resolutions, but I’m considering making a few for 2020.
I’m going to stay away from the top resolutions most people make. They’re all great resolutions and they may be on my goal or wish list. They are to diet or eat healthier, exercise more, lose weight, save more and spend less, learn a new skill or hobby, quit smoking and read more.
I’m resolving to make 2020 a year of kindness. My resolve, wishes and promise to those I know, and to those I’ll meet this coming year, is to treat you with respect and dignity. I want to take the time to listen to how you feel, your opinions and truly take a hard look at suggestions you offer.
I’ve learned working together provides the best ideas and ways to accomplish more. Everyone often works harder to accomplish the goal when they are treated with respect. Often combined ideas and goals are better than just one person’s ideas.
I hope I’ve been kind and respectful to everyone including my family, friends and work family this past year. I pledge to strive to be even kinder this coming year, whatever it holds. In being kind, I will strive to be respectful of you and your ideas whether I agree or disagree with you.
God bless and happy New Year.
