DAR shares new episode of podcast
The Daily American Republic on Friday launched episode 2 of our new weekly podcast.
Our show will post episodes each Friday and is available as a free access item.
This week, myself and assistant editor Samantha Tucker talked about a drug bust made by the Butler County Sheriff’s Department amounting to about $230,000 in marijuana, LSD, cocaine and other drugs. Tucker shared some other historic busts in our region, including one that netted $500,000 in illegal substances. We also discussed an area pilot who started training for lift around age 9, when most of us were learning how to ride a bike.
Looking ahead, Tuesday marks the deadline for our Difference Makers nominations and we discussed when you’ll find out who the 2023 finalists are, as well as how many nominations have already been received. To nominate someone, check out the form online at our homepage, www.darnews.com.
In coming editions of our paper, you will also find recognition of athletes honored at the 10th annual Semoball awards. We name some of the athletes nominated in this episode.
Episodes will be a look at both news and sports stories, community activities and more.
The news and sports staff are excited by this new opportunity to continue sharing our stories with the area. Each one of is invested in keeping the public informed, and in celebrating all of the good news we hear every day.
You can find the podcast regularly on our website homepage, www.darnews.com. It will also be shared each Friday on our social media accounts. You can find the DAR and DAR Sports on Facebook and Twitter, as well as Instagram.
We’re also still looking for a name for our new podcast and would love to hear from you. Email dfarley@darnews.com if you have suggestions.
