DAR offers weekly podcast
The Daily American Republic on Friday launched a new project, a weekly podcast.
Our new show will post episodes each Friday and is available as a free access item.
This week, sports editor Tyler Dixon and assistant editor Samantha Tucker talk about recent July 4th activities and how the city came together to create a celebration for hundreds from our area. They also discuss stories we’ve done this week and plans for upcoming follow ups and future events.
Episodes will be a look at both news and sports stories, community activities and more.
“We’re in the business of telling stories,” Dixon said. “That doesn’t always have to be in the form of print media. We know the landscape is changing and we want to do our part in helping advance that change while also doing our duty in helping inform the people of Butler County.”
You can find the podcast regularly on our website homepage, www.darnews.com. It will also be shared each Friday on our social media accounts. You can find the DAR and DAR Sports on Facebook and Twitter, as well as Instagram.
“There’s so much that goes on in a newsroom that the general public never gets to see,” Tucker said. “This podcast is a way to pull back the curtain and, in a way, bring our readers into the newsroom with us. We’re excited to put our voices to the headshots and bylines people are familiar with, and continue serving our community.”
We’re also still looking for a name for our new podcast and would love to hear from you. Email dfarley@darnews.com if you have suggestions.
