Seeking the lost is our main priority
Jesus came to earth for the sole propose of saving the lost. He was criticized for associating with sinful people. He stated in Luke 19:10, “for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (NKJV)
When a person is physically lost, many people will come to help find them. That is what should happen. We never want anyone to suffer because they have wandered from their home. Sadly, some do not know where they should be.
Spiritually lost people many times do not know they are lost. God tells us in the Bible that sin separates us from God. “But your iniquities (sins) have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.” (Isaiah 59:2)
Sin is very serous. If sin is not taken out of our life, it will cause us to be lost at the judgment.
Jesus came so that no one needs to be lost. He died for the remission of sins for all people. “For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” (Matthew 26:28) The question all need to know the answer to is, “When does the blood of Jesus give remission of sins?”
Since His blood was shed in his death, we are told in Romans 6:4 “Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” This verse teaches that we are buried with Jesus in baptism and raised to a new life — a forgiven life.
Christians are given the responsibility to seek the lost. We cannot save them, but we teach them of Jesus who can save them. Mark 16:15-16 says, “And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.’”
God loves you and does not want you to be lost. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
